I have been really quite off for a while now and am just now catching onto that. Apologies ahead of time until I'm back to my normal self, which will hopefully be sometime soon. Then I'll at least be able to focus more. I keep sitting down to work on one thing and am pulled to another, then another until absolutely nothing gets done. Really important things like the job application I desperately need to fill out.

Well, after that, the entry needs something fun. I believe an epic redneck moment will suffice.

As I have been known to gripe about often, we have a bit of a skunk problem around here. We think they find the house threatening or they just really want to make it and the dog smell pretty. So it's not big surprise that my mother happened to look out the window and see a youngish skunk making his way up the hill through our yard. What might be surprising is the reaction. I was sent on a hunt through the house for the .22...for a skunk.

Yeah, nobody has any idea where this gun is. I'm more alarmed at that thought than the skunk personally but this wasn't the time or place as mother was quite riled. She goes up to the neighbours where my father is to ask him if he knows, she can't get anyone there though even though we all know they're there. Meanwhile Bill takes to the yard and starts throwing rocks at this poor animal. Thankfully he doesn't have that good of aim with said rocks but it was quite fun for me to watch. The gun remains unfound so the arms race escalates with the bow and only three arrows that can be found.

This goes in the same vein as the rocks and is quickly given up on. The skunk is quite happily chewing at a particuarly tempting clump of grass. Not peacefully for long because the .22 is located. It was -laying down- on top of the shelving in the laundry room. Proper gun care, my family fails at it.

So, now it is Bill vs. Skunk, both armed though the skunk would seem to have the advantage.

Yeah, guess who won? At least we know where the gun is now.

Well then, I've not actually used one of these things for a few years. The world has been denied my kind of crack for too long.

If only I actually had something cracky to report at the moment.
